Specialized Services: Individuals with disabilities, as defined by the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), are eligible for specialized door-to-door services. Passengers with accessibility needs may travel with a companion at no additional cost.

NGtransit operates exclusively within North Grenville’s municipal boundaries.

For specific areas like Boundary Road, Totem Ranch Road, and Latourell Road, passengers should request pickups on the North Grenville side.

Booking Details:

• Minimum Notice: Trips must be booked at least 30 minutes before your desired pickup time.
• Advance Booking: Trips can be scheduled up to one (1) month in advance, but they will only be processed seven (7) days before the trip date.
• Recurring Trips: Recurring trips (e.g., every Wednesday for three months) can be booked. These trips are processed seven (7) days before each trip.
• Pass Users: If using a pass, make sure it will be active for the date of your trip. To avoid disruptions, it is recommended that trips are booked within the same time frame as your pass (e.g., one month in advance).
• First-Come, First-Served: All trips are prioritized based on availability.

Confirmation Timeline:

• Booking More Than 7 Days in Advance:
  • At the time of booking:
    • Phone: You’ll receive your earliest estimated pick-up or drop-off time by phone.
    • Blaise App: The app will provide your earliest estimated pick-up or drop-off time. Ensure push notifications are enabled to receive updates.
    • Website: Log in to the website to view your earliest estimated pick-up or drop-off time.
  • Seven (7) days before your trip:
    • Phone: Dispatchers will confirm your planned pick-up or drop-off time by phone (you must call dispatch for an updated pick up or drop off time)
    • Blaise App: Your planned time will be updated in the app, and a notification will be sent for confirmation.
    • Website: Log in to the website to see updated trip details.
  • Thirty (30) minutes before your trip: You will receive a notification with your confirmed pick-up window and trip details via the website or the app.
• Booking Less Than Seven (7) Days in Advance:
  • At the time of booking:
    • Phone: You will need to call dispatch to receive your planned pick-up or drop-off time by phone.
    • Blaise App: Your planned time will appear in the app. Notifications will confirm your trip 30 minutes before pickup.
    • Website: Your planned pick-up or drop-off time will appear when you log in. You can also view updates if there are any changes.

Tips for Booking:

• You will receive confirmation of your trip details 30 minutes in advance of your trip.
• This confirmation will include your pick-up window (e.g., 8:33 a.m. to 8:48 a.m.).
• Be ready for pick-up at the start of your pick-up window (e.g., 8:33 a.m.).
• Drivers are on a tight schedule and will leave the location if the rider is not ready at the confirmed time to avoid delays for other riders.

   • Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to create a user account.
   • You will need to provide basic information and set up a payment method.
3. Select NGtransit as the transit agency

• Use the “Arrive at” option to ensure you get where you need to be on time (eg. to get to work for a shift). Choosing this option means the system will only book a ride that gets you there on time.
• Use the “Leave at” option to leave at a certain time (eg. to leave work after a shift). Choosing this option means that the system won’t pick you up before this time.
• Once your trip is confirmed, in the trip details you will see the pick-up time which is the start of your 15-minute pick-up window. The bus may arrive at any point during this window. If you book your trip by phone, you can call dispatch for these details.
• You can save addresses that you use often. Simply click “Manage saved addresses” when entering a location.
• You can edit trips rather than having to cancel them and re-book. Click the pencil icon on your upcoming trip to edit.

Cancelling a Trip:

• Cancel your trip as early as possible to help maintain reliable service for all riders.
• You can cancel your booking through:

Refunds:

• If you paid with a credit card or Visa Debit, the amount will be refunded to your Blaise Balance, which can be used for future rides.
• To request a refund back to your card instead, call 613-258-9569 ext. 177.

No-Show Policy:

• If you do not cancel your trip, you will be marked as a no-show and may be charged for the trip.

Payment Information

• The easiest way to pay is by using your credit card or Visa Debit on the app, web browser or by phone.
• You may also pay the exact fare by cash on the bus. Note: the driver will not be able to make change.
• Thirty (30) day passes 10 (Ten) Ticket Bundles can only be purchased over the phone, in the app, or on the website and cannot be paid for with cash on the bus.
• If you are paying by credit card or Visa Debit and your ride is rejected the amount will be refunded to your Blaise Balance. You can use your Blaise Balance to pay for future rides. If you’d prefer to be refunded to your card you can call 613-258-9569 ext. 177.
• You may pay by debit or by cash at the front desk of the Municipal Office.

Eligibility:

• Individuals with disabilities, as defined under AODA guidelines, qualify for specialized door-to-door service.
• Previous registrants of North Grenville’s Accessible Transit Service (prior to January 15, 2024) are automatically enrolled.

Registration Process:

• Complete the Specialized Service Registration Form.
• You can also call (613-258-9569) or visit the Municipal Centre (285 County Road #44, Kemptville) to register.

Accessibility Features:

• NGtransit buses are equipped with lifts and include two wheelchair spaces.
• Drivers assist specialized passengers with boarding, seating, and announcing upcoming stops.
• Passengers can travel with one (1) companion at no additional cost.

• You may travel with bags, parcels, laptops, strollers, or other items.
• Keep the aisle clear to allow safe and easy movement for passengers.
• Avoid placing items on seats—leave seats available for other passengers.

2. Courtesy on the Bus:

• Cell Phones: Talking on your phone is allowed but keep your conversation at a respectful volume for your privacy and the courtesy of others.
• Audio/Visual Equipment: Use earphones and adjust the volume to avoid disturbing other passengers or the operator.
• Driver Interaction: Refrain from unnecessary conversations with the driver while the bus is in motion.
• Respectful Behaviour: Be courteous to the driver and other passengers at all times.

3. Operator Authority:

• Drivers may deny boarding or remove disruptive passengers.

4. Behaviour Expectations:

• Shirts and shoes are required.
• All riders must wear seatbelts.
• Aggressive or intimidating behavior will not be tolerated.

Service Animals:

• Must be securely leashed and under control. Operators may request certification.

Pets in Carriers:

• Must remain in closed carriers that do not obstruct aisles or other passengers.

It means that the bus will stop at the end of your driveway or at the location curb and not at the door of the pick-up or drop-off location.

The bus can accommodate two (2) wheelchairs or mobility aids and six (6) additional passengers at one time.

No, there will not be a bike rack on the bus; however, you may bring your bike onto the bus.
