On behalf of Council, Municipal staff and the community, I would like to express our sincere and heartfelt condolences to family and dear friends on the passing of Mr. Ken Finnerty, long-serving Reeve of the Town of Kemptville, Councillor and Deputy of Mayor of the Municipality of North Grenville. Mr. Finnerty passed away on January 14, 2024.

The Land Evaluation and Area Review (LEAR) is a study that is completed to examine the location of prime agricultural areas. The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville is undertaking this study based on its commitment to do so within it’s Official Plan. When the Counties’ adopted their Official Plan in 2015, it was modified by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing in 2016 to include a policy that would require the undertaking of a LEAR study or equivalent.

Today is a day we honour Indigenous women, girls, and 2SLGBTQQIA+ people who have gone missing, had their lives taken too soon, or continue to experience violence. We also honour the families and Survivors who have had the courage to share their painful experiences.
NORTH GRENVILLE, ONTARIO - Recognizing North Grenville's commitment to data-driven decision-making, the Municipality has received its second consecutive Platinum Certification from the World Council on City Data (WCCD) for implementing ISO 37120 – the first international standard for city data. North Grenville joins a network of over 30 Canadian and 100 municipalities globally within the WCCD network that collect, share and use data to make effective and transformative decisions. This Platinum Certification is the highest level of recognition by the WCCD and underlines the Municipality's commitment to high-calibre, globally standardized and independently verified city data.
