Mayor's Task Force on Clean Technology

The mandate of the Mayor’s Task Force on Clean Technology is to examine the status of Clean Tech and Clean Technologies in Canada, and identify opportunities for North Grenville to pursue and potentially adopt strategies and opportunities to expand access to these technologies.

 

The Task Force:

  • ·         Identifies and maps current Clean Tech/Clean Technologies by sector already in use in North Grenville;

  • ·         Explores potential partners and partnership strategic with the private, non-profit and government sectors to assist in pursuing Clean Tech, Clean Technologies and Nature Based solutions;

  • ·         Identifies opportunities to create the conditions for conversion to clean technologies for residents and businesses in the municipality, including external government grants and other sources of funding;

  • ·         Identifies opportunities to pursue external funding for new initiatives related to Clean Tech, Clean Technologies and Nature Based solutions;

  • ·         Assesses and analyzes current and projected needs for Clean Tech and Clean Technologies within the Municipality;

  • ·         Identify enablers and inhibitors in the current municipal By-laws and policies, procedures and those at the provincial and federal levels related to increasing Clean Tech, Clean Technologies and Nature Based solutions; and,

  • ·         Leverage pre-existing forums for the sharing of best practices which promote Clean Tech, Clean Technologies, and Nature Based solutions in other Municipalities.

 

The Task Force, while completing its mandate, will author an interim report and final report. The interim report will be completed by January 31, 2025. The Task Force will author its final report by December 31, 2025 with a presentation to Council to follow.

 

The Task Force must have regard for the Council-identifies priorities of the Community Strategic Plan, Committee Handbook, and Procedural By-Law.
