Workshop: Grief and Loss: Living with the Sorrow of Addiction
Beth Donovan Hospice, in partnership with Serenity Renewal for Families, is offering a virtual 4-session workshop titled "Grief and Loss: Living with the Sorrow of Addiction."
Living with or losing a loved one to addiction often complicates our grief. In Canada, over 67,000 substance use-related deaths were reported last year. Even when a loved one is alive, the grief of losing them to addiction is profoundly complex. Societal stigma often prevents us from expressing our grief, leaving us to struggle with judgment and misunderstanding.
This 4-week workshop provides a compassionate space to explore the impact of addiction-related grief, including the challenges of self-judgment and criticism. Participants will have the opportunity to share their journeys and find support among others who understand.
Serenity Renewal for Families, a non-profit organization, has been offering hope, guidance, and support for over 30 years to individuals and families facing addiction and mental health challenges.
There is no cost to participate in this workshop, and registration is now open.
