About the coach:

Francheska (Cheska) Onasanya is 19 years old, and is one of the directors of youth in the FSTA family. She began playing soccer at age 3 for FSTA and has been a devoted player since. She began her soccer journey as a kid who fell in love with the game, and she has not looked back since.

At age 14, she began her identification process for University.  When she turned 17, she signed as a central midfielder for Algoma University, in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Where she obtained both a soccer and academic scholarship. She studies Law and Justice, with a minor in political science.

Cheska has been a devoted coach since she was 12 years old, where she began coaching FSTA’s 3-6 age groups. She has spent countless summers devoting her time and compassion to FSTA summer camps, where she has created life-long bonds with not only her teammates, but her fellow coaches and the children she coaches as well. She now coaches private sessions, group sessions, soccer camps, clinics and helps out with North Grenville’s intermediate soccer team. She describes her goal as a coach as such;  “As a coach, I hope that everytime I step onto the pitch, I make an impact on each and every child I coach. Soccer taught me that I had a voice, gave me strength and friendships that will last a lifetime. I can only hope I can give back what soccer gave me”. Cheska is currently obtaining her Ontario C license and is certified in Making Ethical Decisions (MED). Respect in Soccer and Making Headway in Soccer.
