Rideau Woodland Ramble

Rideau Woodland Ramble (RWR), a nursery and gardening center in Merrickville, ON, has been nominated for Ottawa's Garden Centre of the Year 2024. Founded in 2000, the idea for RWR was sparked by a long-held dream to share gardening experiences and by the transformative impact of the 1998 ice storm, which cleared a swath of land, creating an opportunity to develop the gardens. Co-founder Dave Dunn describes it as a "Phoenix from the ashes of the storm."

RWR showcases years of evolution, experimentation, and discovery, inviting visitors to explore its dynamic landscape filled with rare and beautiful plant collections. The center also attracts local artists, inspired by its stunning natural beauty, to create and showcase their masterpieces. A variety of original works and prints by these artists are available for purchase in the hall at RWR.
