The St. Lawrence Swordfighters Guild would like to give a big thank you to the Municipality of North Grenville and the Arts & Culture Development Fund initiative, the mayor and councilors. all of those who sit on the board and took the time to review and find value in all of the above mentioned applications. It is exciting to be part of a community that values and makes room for the creative endeavors that exist in their back yard!

Because of the grant we were able to afford new equipment for our brand new candidates (8). These items will help them in their journey as they practice and learn the 14th century art-form of Medieval martial arts.

We can already proudly say that we have had 9 new potential members show up to the first class! We hope this brings continued interest and involvement in the guild and in Kemptville as a whole. It would be really great to keep growing and to eventually possibly offer Kemptville’s own Medieval Festival 🙂😉.

We should also note that we had great assistance from The North Grenville Times The Kemptville Advance and 97.5 Moose FM in reaching out and spreading the word about our club!
